Wimbledon Car Boot

The Wimbledon car boot ran 3 days a week until the closing of the greyhound stadium in 2017. There was a constant energy of banter, joking, and haggling between sellers and buyers. The sellers were as varied as their wares, some high end antique collectors, others junk haulers and a few scammers out for a buck too. But more often than not, the sellers were as open to a chat as they were for a sale as they showed off their treasures and then parted with them for a pound or less. Near closing time the prices would plummet until the final desperate sellers sang out 'no money honey' as the stadium wardens came out in their high vis vests herding out sellers while they hurriedly packed up crates, boxes and furniture into their lorries, cars, and vans, filing out in a single line onto Plough Lane and back from whence they came until the next market day.
